Privacy Policy

Private by design. We collect no personal information from children — here's exactly how it works.

Last updated: June 21, 2026

1. Introduction

Popkins (“we”, “us”, or “our”) makes a learning app for children ages 2–6. We built Popkins to be private by design. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain language, what information the app does and does not handle, and the rights you have as a parent or guardian.

This policy applies to the Popkins mobile app (bundle ID com.Popkins.app) and this website. By using Popkins, you agree to this policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect NO personal information from children. Popkins does not ask for, and does not collect, a child's name, email, phone number, photos, location, contacts, device identifiers used for tracking, or any other personal data.

The app does not require an account, login, or sign-up of any kind. There is no profile to create. Gameplay progress (such as which activities have been completed) is stored only on the device.

3. No Third-Party Analytics or Ads to Children

Popkins does not contain behavioral advertising, does not use third-party analytics that collect personal data, does not have social networking features, does not allow user-generated content, and does not include links that leave the app without passing a parental gate.

We do not integrate advertising SDKs or third-party tracking SDKs that profile children. There is no cross-app or cross-site tracking.

4. Data Storage

All gameplay data (such as progress and settings) is stored locally on the device using on-device storage (the platform equivalent of localStorage). This data never leaves the device and is not transmitted to us or to any third party. Deleting the app removes this data.

5. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA)

Popkins is designed to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). Because we do not collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under 13, no parental consent for data collection is required — there is no data collection to consent to. If you believe we have inadvertently received personal information from a child, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

6. GDPR-K (Children in the EU/UK)

For users in the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, Popkins is designed to meet the heightened protections for children under the GDPR and the UK Age Appropriate Design Code (“GDPR-K”). We apply data minimisation by collecting no personal data, rely on no profiling, and treat the best interests of the child as the default in our design choices.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA, California residents have rights regarding their personal information. Because Popkins collects no personal information and does not sell or share personal information, there is no personal information to access, delete, or opt out of selling. We do not sell or share the personal information of any user, including children.

8. Parental Rights

As a parent or guardian, you have the right to:

  • Review any personal information we hold about your child (we hold none).
  • Request deletion of any such information.
  • Refuse further collection or use of your child's information.

Since Popkins collects no personal information, there is typically nothing to review or delete. If you have any questions or requests, email privacy@popkins.app and we will respond within 48 hours.

9. Third-Party Services

Popkins uses only the minimum services required to function:

  • Apple StoreKit (and, on Android, Google Play Billing) — used solely to process optional in-app purchases. These are operated by Apple and Google under their own privacy policies. We do not use any SDKs that profile children.

We do not include advertising networks, analytics providers, social media SDKs, or any other third-party service that collects personal data from children.

10. Accounts & Account Deletion

Account deletion is not applicable. Popkins has no user accounts and no sign-up. There is no login, no profile, and no server-side account associated with a child or parent. Because no account exists, there is no account to delete. To remove all locally stored data, simply uninstall the app.

11. Data Retention

Because gameplay data lives only on the device, we do not retain it on any server. On-device data persists until you clear it within the app or uninstall Popkins. Messages you choose to send us through our contact form are retained only as long as needed to respond to your request and meet legal obligations, then deleted.

12. Security

We design Popkins to minimise risk by collecting no personal data from children. For the limited information you voluntarily provide through our website contact form (such as your email), we use industry-standard safeguards and restrict access to authorized personnel only.

13. International Transfers

Popkins does not transfer children's personal data internationally because it does not collect such data. Any limited correspondence you send us may be processed on servers located in other countries; where applicable, we apply appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted within the app or on this website. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

15. Contact Information
